The Event
The annual Outdoor and Adventure Expo in Grabouw, Western Cape, was launched in 2023. The inaugural event was spectacular and a resounding success! The event focused on the Outdoor Lifestyle, from camping, 4×4’ing, hiking, mountain biking, rowing, outdoor adventure, etc. The picturesque exhibitor arena displayed an array of camping equipment, 4×4 vehicles, trailers, caravans, off-road caravans, and 4×4 accessories. Visitors explored overland expeditions, boats, water sports, braai equipment, kids’ entertainment, food vendors, limited live entertainment, a beer and craft gin garden, wine and cheese tasting, and much more!
The Outdoor & Adventure Expo Grabouw has grown immensely since its launch in 2023, doubling in quality exhibitors every year. “Our core success lies in the unique product offering at breathtaking venues set in nature; pure outdoor lifestyle, adventure and activities focused,” says André Verster, organiser of the event. “It is not a music festival; it is not a flea market; it is not an agricultural show – it is an authentic outdoor experience.
The Outdoor & Adventure Expo is a great day outing for the whole family, lots of great food vendors and a beer tent, kids entertainment, non-motorised water sport, hiking, cycling or 4×4 drive-outs on the independently operated Grabouw 4×4 and AWD Routes.
The Venue
The Elgin Grabouw Sports / Country Club is the home of the Western Cape Outdoor & Adventure Expo. This stunning venue is centrally located and is easily accessible. The drive from Cape Town or Worcester takes approximately 60 minutes whilst the trip from Somerset West, Gordon’s Bay and Hermanus will take approximately 35 minutes. The Elgin Grabouw Sports Club boasts breathtaking and spectacular views of the surrounding Hottentots Holland, Nuweberg and Groenland mountains. Combined with the waterfront ambiance of the Eikenhof dam and the flourishing fynbos blanketing the mountain slopes, this venue will leave you with an overwhelming sense of tranquillity and enchantment. The Eikenhof dam is the ideal location for the rowing fraternity to hone their skills whilst the Hottentots Holland Mountains provide the perfect conditions required for avid hikers, cross country runners, mountain bikers and 4×4 enthusiasts.
