The Woolworths X TRI triathlon at Paul Cluver Wine Estate is an exciting endurance event that challenges athletes to push their limits in three disciplines: swimming, mountain biking, and trail running. The event takes place at the beautiful Paul Cluver Wine Estate, nestled in the heart of the Western Cape’s Elgin Valley.
Athletes begin the triathlon with a 1.5 km swim in the estate’s lake, known for its crystal-clear waters and stunning views. They then transition to the mountain bike leg, tackling a challenging 28 km course through orchards and vineyards. The bike leg features technical singletrack, steep climbs, and exhilarating descents, testing skill and fitness.
After the bike leg, athletes move into the final discipline, a 12 km trail run through pristine forests and rolling hills. The trail run includes steep ascents and descents, rocky terrain, and stunning views of the surrounding mountains and valleys.
